How to fix your overheating Laptop

It has been 28 years since Portable Computers ( Laptops ) have been introduced to the world. However eventually the portable PCs have undergone copious amount of developmental stages.  In order to have a better performance speed, "chips" were introduced, which basically are even more densely packed with transistors. This is how in parallel, the amount of processors was multiplied, the hardware was put into smarter cases and better graphics cards were installed to enable higher resolution on screens. all of this upgrade has a drawback i.e heat.

The greatest threat for your laptop is over heating. It can lead to hardware failure. In this article I will guide you how to prevent your laptop from getting overheated.

HOW TO TELL THAT YOUR LAPTOP IS OVERHEATED?

When your laptop's fan starts running at full speed and also the performance of your computer starts lagging and moreover when the fail safe software triggers a sudden shutdown to prevent a hardware failure then you should know that it has gotten overheated.

What causes overheating?

It is caused by dust blocking the fan and the exhaust ports. Which basically causes insufficient cooling.

1.How to clean an overheating Laptop?

First of all when you feel that your laptop has begun to overheat. You are supposed to clean the laptop. Blow the dust from its hardware and make sure that there is no dust left on the fan and the other parts. You can use the manual guide to see how to open up the laptop in order to clean it from inside.

-Shut down the computer
-Remove the batteries
-Unplug the power strip
-Open the laptop
-Take a dust blower
-Blow the dust from inside the computer
-In the end take a cotton wipe to wipe out the left over dust from the parts.

2. Keep The Laptop On A Hard & Flat Surface

You must have noticed that if you put the laptop on your bed and use it, it starts to heat up fast because the system doesn't get enough ventilation since most laptops suck in air for cooling from the bottom and when the will not allow the air to enter, the flow of air in the laptop is disturbed and the heat starts to build up with in the laptop which eventually result in overheating.

This situation is totally avoidable by placing your laptop on a hard and smooth surface whenever you use it.

3. Buy a Laptop Cooler

Laptop coolers are meant to provide additional cooling. However, getting the wrong cooler can actually make the problem worse. Before you purchase a cooler, you need to understand the flow of air into and out of your laptop.

As mentioned above, most laptops suck in air for cooling from the bottom. This makes sense because warm air rises upwards. However, a cooler that sits underneath the laptop and sucks air away from it, does not contribute to laptop cooling and rather causes a more rapid overheating.

If your laptop has intake grills at its bottom, purchase a cooler that blows cool air upwards, i.e. into the laptop. You can also get a passive cooler that does not consume power and merely absorbs heat.

I hope you have now understood the techniques of how to avoid laptop overheating.
Have a good day there.
